Custom Arguments on Birth Control Essay

Birth control is an essential issue of today`s discussion in terms whether it is worth and humane to control birth in the world, especially in those countries, which are overpopulated, such as China and India. Due to the research, some people are in favor of birth control while others are not. This paper has intention to discuss world arguments for and against birth control. Like any other problem, it should be discussed in order to figure out a proper decision.

There are a number of reasons why people support birth control. First of all, our planet is overpopulated and the amount of people is rising daily. This is a serious problem, which leads to the lack of food, territories and recourses. Searching territories and food people damage natural environment (Heinsohn & Steiger, 1999, p.425). A good example of this is deforestation in different regions, especially in Indonesia and Brazil. Birth control may be a good source to stop the process of damaging the environment, keep natural recourses, and protect nations from poverty.

Secondly, there is a need to control birth rate in order to protect people from poverty, economic hardships, wars, and various disasters. A lot of people in the world stay hungry because their lands are not fertile, their pastures are weak, and water is polluted. This situation is mainly observed in poor countries where the dominant amount of people is illiterate. In order to feed their children and themselves they damage forests, lands, lakes, and rivers. The natural recourses on earth are limited, and if not to keep birth rate under control, the humankind would not survive (Heinsohn & Steiger, 1999, p.431).

Thirdly, birth control is important in protection of early pregnancies and diseases, such as AIDS and others. Mostly teenagers are victims of early pregnancies and diseases because they are lacking knowledge and life experience. Early pregnancies in most countries lead to poverty, because young mothers cannot protect their children and give them necessary maintenance and values in life. Women must realize their desire to be mothers and have children but not simply being child-bearing machines.

It is worth mentioning that in world history, birth control was viewed as a means of ethnic cleansing, for example, Marxists and Hitler.

Contrary to those who support the idea of birth control, there are those who oppose it. First of all, there is a certain amount of people, especially women who consider birth control as elimination of their human rights ((Heinsohn & Steiger, 1999, p.438). Some feminist movements are objecting to prevent women to have as many children as they want. Secondly, most of world religions oppose the idea of birth control, because they consider that only God can decide how many children a family can have.

According to the research, the conclusion may be done: there are more arguments for birth control than those which are against it. Therefore, world authorities and governments must provide programs on birth control in order to protect the world from overpopulation, economic hardship, polluted environment, etc. This is not a private task of one or several countries, but it should be a decision of the most countries in the world by means of negotiations, treaties, and mutual decisions. In order to keep our planet safe and rich in natural resources for future generations, people must keep under control the birth rate in the planet.
