Custom Creativity Essay

Creativity is very crucial and should be encouraged in all organizations. It is widely known that employees who have the privilege of working in creative environments are well exposed and are able to come up with ideas that are innovative. These innovative ideas are needed in order to engage with their stakeholders. The innovative ideas help to develop and expand the flexibility of the employees and the company in order to adapt to alterations in marketplace. As a result, the flexibility ensures that the organizations are much better and agile in competition in the ever changing business world that is competitive (Michael 1997, p. 45).

There must be encouragement of creativity in all workplaces in order to acquire improvements in the companies. The management of a company is responsible of fostering an environment that encourages and supports all the employees to be very creative and also hand over their creative ideas to the management. Creative solutions are always demanded at very high speeds and they are needed at faster rates and are needed to always deliver on time.  Various organizations could be looking at the same scientific problem in an attempt to bring change and therefore the timing must be considered a lot. This is when dealing with creativity which leads to the technological and scientific changes and innovations (Institute of leadership & Management 2007, p. 35).

The fostering of creativity especially in the workplace is a prelude to developing a world-class management system and knowledge creation. This will greatly increase productivity of the knowledge workers.

Issue/argument driven structure

It is widely known that creativity levels vary from one individual to the other. This means that some people are naturally creative more than other, although most of the people are well capable of some level of creativity. A very effective and efficient manager is able to bring these different people together to bring up new and fresh ideas. These individuals should not be afraid to reflect in new ways. The aspect of good communication is very important if creativity is to be realized in the organizations. In case of a problem that needs to be solved, all the employees should be aware of all the aspects that pertain to the problem so that they could be able to come up with solutions that are creative (Tom 2002, p. 38).

The management should ensure that they are not elitist. This is because it is not right to assume that only the employees who are in the management level are able to come up with creative solutions. Therefore the management should find ways to solicit inputs from all members of all the departments in the entire company. Criticism should be totally discouraged especially to the employees who come up with ridiculous ideas because it takes several bad ideas to get better ones and even best ideas. In this case, if the employees are very afraid of ridicule after participating the company might never succeed (Robert 2000, p. 67).

The manager of every company and of creative employees should act as the coach or referee who should always encourage unity and working together of all employees especially when dealing with creative ideas. Some companies in an attempt to foster creativity have offered sabbaticals. Other companies have allowed employees quality time to complete their individual projects. Other companies have allowed their employees to attend conferences that are held outside their regular areas of expertise with the aim of fostering creativity (Michael 1997, p. 57).

The employees should be allowed to work with the other people from the other departments in the organization in order to foster creativity. This is because they would capture ideas from various people in the organization. The employees should not be allowed to be complacent in their individual jobs. When the employees are rotated they are allowed to see the bigger picture and this keeps them from only believing that their fraction of the job is what matters. When the employees are able to see the big picture, they are able to understand why various procedures are put in place. Thereafter the employees are able to understand the procedures that are out of date and need improvement. The company should also give their employees time for hobbies, classes or travel and these can result to improved productivity and enhanced creativity. All these are dependent on the group that one works with because different groups require different measures. The strategies used should be productive and realistic for the employees in each department (Tom 2002, p. 86).

Creativity could also be improved in an organization by allowing a particular group to brainstorm with no set agenda in their minds. The employees should be urged to discuss and think of “wish list” and “what if” scenarios and then the management should consider collectively coming up with various ways to employing the ideas. There should be an environment of freedom of action and thought in every organization. Each and every company should develop a recommended and suitable system which should capture all the creative ideas. Some of the organizations are able and are willing to reward thousands of money for all right ideas that could have positive impact on the organization. Other companies are willing and able to pay only a percentage of money that is saved or even earned from the particular idea which can be a lot (Ken 2001, p. 43).

The management of every company should clearly communicate the objectives, goals and the mission of the company to all its employees. Employees are essential people in improving the creativity in the workplace. Every employee in the company should know and understand the priorities of the company, the major challenges and also initiatives. The employees should be made to understand that their creativity is very important and that it contributes to the success of the entire company. The employees should be involved in all stages and steps undertaken in an attempt to improve creativity (Tom 2002, p. 44).

The use of a suggestion box where the employees drop their suggestions assists a lot in improving creativity. The company should define guidelines to govern the suggestion program. This means that there should be an agreed target number of suggestions per employee per a specified time period. The set goals should be achievable and attainable, depending on the past performance. Although, these goals should not be too easy that the employees are not challenged. The employees should not be punished for not reaching the target or for even having ridiculous suggestions; however it should be taken as an opportunity to coach the employees on how to view their work critically and finding other ways to carry out their tasks better. This is done by the supervisors in the company (Huczynski & Buchanan 2007, p. 21).

The suggestion program should also be publicized and this is done by developing a known brand for the program where every employer will be able to associate with the suggestion program. This should be creative and everyone should have fun. This is because it has been known to be the greatest opportunity to get and tap into the creativity of the employees. The management should inform their customers and also their suppliers and they will appreciate the company for its commitment to continually improve their workplace. This would help to boost their confidence in the company (Institute of leadership & Management 2007, p. 43).

The process of improvement should be made as easy as possible. The program of suggestion from the employees should be well understood and the process should be timely and straightforward. The employees should be involved in the process of implementation. The management should also recognize and acknowledge all suggestions that are made by all employees. The process should involve the practice of sending acknowledgements whenever there is receipt of any suggestion. The employees who are able to meet or even exceed their expected goals should also be recognized in order to encourage all employees to aim higher in terms of their goals. The management of every organization should ensure that the efforts of the employees are visible in the entire organization (Robert 2000, p. 94).

There should also be timely feedback concerning the suggestions that are made in order to motivate the employees. This includes communication of whether every suggestion will be executed, saved and kept for future consideration, looked into for feasibility or is not altogether possible. Whenever an inspiring idea is not implemented, the management should challenge the employee who made it to make other suggestions and ideas which would overcome all barriers. The management should establish teams which would help to study all complex suggestions and thereafter create favorable action plans (Huczynski & Buchanan 2007, p. 34).

There should be celebrating and publicizing of the successes of the improving of creativity in every company. There should be a reward for the employees who share out their ideas to improve the company. These rewards may include limited monetary system, other perks, a ball cap or also a t-shirt. The rewards motivate the employees to share out all their ideas which would be used to expand the company’s success. The company should make the very best out of their successes and they could be included in the newsletter of the company, they could also be posted to the company’s Intranet or also the bulletin board. This is to ensure that the customers are aware of the contributions that are made by the employees to the success of the entire organization or company (Ken 2001, p. 87).

The management of every organization should ensure that there is no political power that influences the creative ideas that should be implemented. This means that there no politicking of the ideas between the employees or even in the management level. The main key factor in creativity in the work place is to encourage, select, and then apply the best ones. There should be concentration on execution and instigation of the ideas that are given by the employees. The management should ensure that the standards of excellence in the company are upheld even as the creative thinking is changed into concrete products, programs, and projects (Diana 2008, p. 67).

These include the times at which the company is determining a particular strategy and creativity in this case will help to make sure that the future direction is generally original and forward looking. These leaders should also be politicians and entrepreneurs who have an ability to take care of paradox meaning that they are able to present similar facts in various lights in various circumstances. These leaders who uphold creativity should be autocrats and some of the times they are manipulators; these are the times when they are attempting to elicit or coach specific performances. These leaders however most of the time they should be democratic in the ways that they lead the organizations. This is where members are allowed to choose their projects that they want to work on and then the major decisions are made and taken up by the entire group (Huczynski & Buchanan 2007, p. 59).

Effective and efficient leaders are able to foster creativity in their companies. These leaders have the ability of using the constraints and challenges whereas at the same time giving the employees their freedom. The leaders should be able to shape the tasks in a manner such that the challenges face the individuals carrying out a particular task and they have the freedom to liberate and entice to experiment every solution that they may have. The leaders should set the climate and the culture of the organization in a manner that they are less disabling or obstructive (Creative Education Foundation, 1990, p. 23)

Generally it has been noted that creative people are always seen to feel naked, exposed, or insecure and this is because their talents and skills are very essential in their lives. However, difficulty and pain, paradox and problems causes a lot of tension and as a result act as great challenges which cause creativity. Therefore effective leaders should be very supportive where they should provide cognitive and emotional support. These leaders should affirm attained successes; they should also assist the employees to bounce back from any set-backs. Leaders are very essential in promoting creativity in all workplaces because they should stimulate and encourage the development of creative ideas and then go ahead to protect these ideas especially in the early stages. The creative ideas should be examined rigorously at just the right time and then provide timely feedback (John 1999, p. 43).

Creativity is quite essential in every company and the employees should be given the chance to learn to give proper attention to new ideas and also they should preserve their own new ideas. Another aspect the all employees should understand is that failure is very invaluable in cases of creativity and this is because it makes different ideas to compete among themselves. Another important aspect that every person in any organization should be made to understand is that broad and wide training is essential for the improvement of creativity. This is solely because it ensures diverse ideas to be available for competition. Out of the many ideas, some are implemented in order to improve the workplace for every employee and the management in general. Another aspect which could help to stimulate and improve creativity is the proper designing of social and physical environments. These environments should be conducive for ideas to circulate without any discrimination (Ken 2001, p. 78).

Effective and efficient leaders take a lot of trouble in choosing of their co-teams which they will work with. These match the requirements of the project in question and not just because of their abilities and skills of the potential team members but also because of their aspirations which fosters creativity in the workplace. The team members should be trusting and open and these are the members who will be able to interact freely and quickly without prejudice and who will be able to use the various perspectives of each other. This is because the creative teams always view themselves as though they are developing the journey through life together. The management of every company which wants to foster creativity should work against big egos which inhabit creativity (Huczynski & Buchanan 2007, p. 121).

Creativity is quite important and the management of every company should be able to foster an environment that encourages new ideas especially from their employees. The management should also come up with the best strategy of getting the new creative ideas from their employees and also the reward system. This improves productivity and should also be cost-effective. This as a result leads to the success of the entire company.

Technological and scientific developments have had dramatic effects on the ways that people live and work. For example medical research has continued to prolong and enhance life; information technology revolution has influenced all aspects of work; and the telecommunications innovations have shortened distance and time. The speed of the scientific alterations is expected to increase to higher levels and all organizations are aware that technological and scientific changes are main elements and aspects in their existence even in the future. These changes are brought about by encouraging creativity in the workplace which leads to new innovations. From this we can conclude that creativity is very essential and should always be encouraged at all costs in all organizations.
