These strategies may be long-term or short-term. They are the strategies of management that have to be taken into consideration by many companies and organizations. They are the sources of success and outcomes expected of any learning scenario (Dale, 1969).

Management is a tool that has been used by many in society. It refers to a process where one takes the power of a particular state of affairs, property or intent that he is to be the final in the making of decisions. It is one of the strategies that have been embraced by many organizations, companies and institutions and has proved to work towards the success of these human settings. Even in the field of leadership, the concepts of management are crucial and inevitable. It is like a driving force that is used to enable and also disable. Leaders and managers have been seen to make use of management strategies and they have actually succeeded in a number of occasions (Cleland, & Ireland, 2006).

Control systems and motivation are other concepts that have been described to go in line with management. Systems refer to establishments that encompass a multiplicity of organs that are interrelated in one way or the other. They are known to work towards a common goal in life. The concept of control here refers to the ways in which these systems can be manipulated to take a particular skew so as to strike a certain resultant effect. Moreover, the control of systems is a sure way of managing the destiny of any establishment that has been put across by an individual or organization. Motivation is a kind of self drive that culminates from a continued aim and clarity of intention that results to a liking of a particular phenomenon. It is a fact that almost all that a human being does must come from the central point of motivation and self activation. Control systems are therefore some of the features that drive an individual to get motivated over a particular thing and not the other. As the quality of a product or service is managed, the resultant effect of the management will execute a particular driving force within an individual, hence gets motivated.

Within the concept of the control systems, there are functional and dysfunctional control systems. The main aim of involving any control system is to ensure that the production of the company or any other establishment is kept under check so that it continues to excel in its production of services to the people. There are other categories of control systems apart from the functional and the dysfunctional ones. The main intention of these control systems is to oversee the production of an organization (Dandelion, 1995).

In the development of control systems in every human setting, there are always major considerations that have to be put in place. They are for the good functioning of these control systems. Quality management has to possess particular essentials that ensure its prosperity and workability.

Review of literature

The term management has been under enormous concern by many scholars and knowledge providers. There are a number of scholars who have tried to come up with ideas that provides knowledge in management of different stake holdings and organizational settings among the various institutions. For instance Cleland, (Cleland, & Ireland, 2006) in his book says that management is an activity that makes use of an individual’s ability to understand and enable a working of a particular system. Cleland, (Cleland, & Ireland, 2006) expresses that for an organization or institution to be well managed, it has to meet a number of conditions among them management strategies and criterion. These strategies are mainly for the success of these organizations so that it can produce the best services to the people and at the same time produce quality products. Moreover, the outcome of any management is normally figured at the nature of production and success that the company or organization is enjoying at a particular time.

In every society and economy that we are in today, technology is the root of all activities that take place. For an organization to grow and maintain its economic advantage in the market, it has to make use of knowledge in most of the dealings that it involves itself in. Knowledge has been an idea from the beginning of age. It is what many treasure as source of good to both the society and the individual citizen of the country (Damelio, 1995).

Research methods

For the success of the research that was done upon the term paper, there are a number of methods that were used in the collection of data. Among the methods used were carrying out surveys and issuing of questionnaires. Questionnaires were issued among a group of individuals who happened to be workers of a particular company. Other research methods used was observation (Dale, 1969).

Management is a term that is defined as an act of putting populace together to labor and endeavor at one particular objective in life. The goal may be miscellaneous in nature but the people are motivated to precede and work towards fulfilling a certain degree of achievement. Management involves a number of singular activities as planning, leading, organizing and making staff. People therefore make use of resources and facilities that are available to get the desired goal in life. The managerial learning that has taken place over the academic season has assisted many to work and achieve particular levels of success. Many students are now able to make use of the available instructions and resources. Moreover, the term management can also refer to the entire group of people who are involved in doing a certain activity.  For every management to prosper and meet all the requirements of the company or organization, it has to be embraced with knowledge. Knowledge here refers to the skill and ability to invent, use and analyze every scenario that comes in life, especially in business. Knowledge application in the field of management is of factual importance. This is because of the fact that without knowledge, there will be nothing to have the organization advance from one level to another (Cleland, & Ireland, 2006).

To achieve the fine outcomes of management and its application of knowledge, there are a number of activities that have to be taken under consideration. Knowledge plays a crucial role in the field of management. Knowledge has the power to improve customer services. Knowledge is basically the gear to improvement that may be needed in an organization. To change the value of the products, to transform the taste of the products and also to let the products get to the customers in a more convenient way, requires the involvement of knowledge. Every innovation that has taken place in the field of production and business is centrally geared towards improving the services that are required by customers of any kind. It is therefore very necessary that knowledge is appropriately used to meet these customer conditions. Moreover, services will improve with time. When people, are knowledgeable and are trained according to the existing technology, they will be able to deliver services that are timely and up to the obligatory standard.

It is a common idea that new things are of high need in the markets of today. For a management to be able to realize more gains by the trade of the products it produces, it has to be able to improve or produce new goods and services to the customers. When one embraces knowledge, he will be able to have a new view of the products. This will mean that it will be very possible for such an individual to change the look of the product or to have a new product all together. As the nature of business changes, one will be able to go by this nature and never remain in one state. This implies to the fact that when the taste of the products go down, a knowledgeable individual will be able to quickly bring a new item into the market so as to win the preference of the customers (Damelio, 1995).

Every business establishment assumes costs in its production. One of the features that many organizations and businessmen do is to try and reduce the costs of production. This can be done in several ways. One of the ways therefore is to utilize the available and unique knowledge that will work well with the reduction of the costs that are involved. Knowledge will enable an individual to have a good calculation of the overall income and expenditures so that there will be a possibility to reduce on the expenditures and increase on the income. This will thus enable a business to prosper in its dealings (Dale, 1969).

Control systems refer to techniques and methodologies that different institutions use to have their strategies go through. They are the mechanisms that regulate and guide the actions that a company or organization is involved in. Before implementing any strategy or plan of action, the company has to make sure that it is at the right path of action. This means that it cannot just begin doing things without prior planning. Moreover, control systems act as guidelines to the strategies that an organization or company has resolved to do. This states the style of action and the period of time that is suppose to elapse at the process of implementation of the strategy.

A control system is very essential in every organization that has the responsibilities of monitoring different situations, departments, and sections. The term control goes hand in hand with management. It is therefore one of the tools that have been utilized to carry out numerous plans that have been carried out. When there is a functioning control system, it is very easy for the management committee to execute and oversee the actions of the various departments in an organization. For instance in the company that I work for, there is a functional control system. Due to this folder of the control systems, it is very easy for the general management of the company to carry out certain responsibilities as supervision of all the workers of the institution. Different departments have therefore been compelled to work as required as there is no room for carrying out other activities apart from those of the company.

Functional control systems refer to those that are active within a company. They are used to execute most of the activities that take place in the company. For instance, with the company that I work for, it is very common to have a functional control system. This is why the company has been able to maximize on production and minimize on expenses that it encounters in its goings-on. It is very crucial to have a functioning control system in an organization. This will foresee the success that is in the organization. Moreover, functional control system will see to it that the company is able to meet all the needs that it is doomed to, for instance, it has to fulfill all the needs that the customers have on the products that it manufactures at a particular time (Cleland,  & Ireland, 2006).

A dysfunctional control system refers to a control system that is not active in nature. They are the control systems that work silently in their service to the organization. They are as good as the functional systems only that they are subversive and cannot be realized with ease. It has to take the responsibility of an individual to make sure that the organization is operating at the guidance of a dysfunctional control system.  They are also very crucial in the management of an organization. For instance, with the organization that I work for, it is very rare to find a dysfunctional control system. This is because of the fact that they can not be easily realized by an individual.

There is a criterion that is normally used in the development of a control system. First and foremost, the criterion has to be acceptable among the people of the company. It is only acceptable if it meets the intentions and objectives of the company or organization. Acceptability takes the perspective of whether it will result to a profit or loss to the organization. This means that the criterion has to fulfill all the plans and regulations that are possessed by the plan of the business. The criterion has to be accurate. This means that it has to be timely and unto the needs of the company or organization. The issues that arise should be met by the criterion with no difficulty. It has to have the ability to carry out evaluation of the scopes and the concepts of the activities that have been planned by the company or organization. There has to be a case of effectiveness, efficiency and adequacy in the criterion itself. The assigned tasks have to be completed as it is to be examined by the criterion. Moreover, the criterion has to be distinguishable. This means that it has to be well known by all the people who are directly or indirectly affected by the services of the organization. It has to be recognized as distinct and unique to the best of the organization (Dale, 1969).

There are a number of essential ingredients for quality management. First, one has to understand the meaning of all the terms. For instance, one has to know that the term quality is not a business problem alone. It entails other aspects as business process. This is very essential for the understanding of the management systems. When strategizing on the concepts of quality management, one has to focus on the customers and the suppliers and not on the data alone. This will help the management to have a wholesome management that will oversee the issues of the entire organization. Moreover, there is a great importance on the components of the information in the management strategy. This focuses on the definition of the concepts, the content and their presentation.

Still on the strategies of management, benchmarking refers to the process that one draws a comparison of two business establishments as industries and organizations. This will assist in striking out the weaknesses and the strategies that the organization may be involved in. Quality management is a strategy that is best maximized during the process of bench marking. It enables one to compare one or many product from two or more industries in order to ascertain the best, and practically adhere to the strategies of production. In my own organization, the concepts of benchmarking and knowledge management have been adhered to. This has resulted to a number of improvements that have been witnessed among the customers who make use of the products from the company (Damelio, 1995).

On my professional and personal life, the issues of management and knowledge have been of major boost. Within my company, it is always the order of the day to strike new deals that will enable the company to progress well and even get more gains than it was doing the previous day. Management of knowledge is inevitable to a growing and developing business.


Knowledge management is a crucial undertaking that has to be embraced by every institution that dwells on the prospect of making profit. Knowledge is the key to every development.
