There is no other critical question than finding the life goal for any person. Different factors shape and determine our understanding of life and perception of its primary goal. In particular, meeting different people, reading books, or simply studying history have considerable impact on the process of revealing and pursuing life goals. Coming across exceptional personalities often exhibits impact and changes life of an individual. Outstanding writers, musicians, and politicians have altered life goals of many people, including myself.

In my case, a leader that has substantial influence on my life and life goals is Napoleon Bonaparte. Despite the fact that his figure is rather arguable in the history, he is still considered to be the most influential leader in the nineteenth century. Even though he was not as cruel as Hitler in Germany or Stalin in Soviet Union, Napoleon Bonaparte has sent millions of young men to death in numerous fights to conquer new territories. He has become an outstanding leader of his time in such a young age which keeps surprising researchers and general public. These aspects of his character, his determination and strategic thinking are the most appealing to me.

Taking a look back, I have always been interested in the history of different countries and their leaders. I have been reading and studying history of France which is really rich with respect to its culture, politics, and social life compared to other nations. Napoleon is surely one of the most extraordinary figures in the history.

Being inspired by the life and aspirations of Napoleon Bonaparte, I have set up my own life goals and life vision. Taking him as an example, I have learned how essential strategic planning is. Developing a life plan (no matter whether it will be realized or not) is crucial in securing achievement of its objectives at least partially. In fact, decision related to career and professional developments have been largely affected by Napoleon Bonaparte.

According to Napoleon Bonaparte, “great ambition is the passion of a great character. Those endowed with it may perform very good or very bad acts. All depends on the principles which direct them”. Therefore, being ambitious in life often helps in achieving my goals. Catching every opportunity is essential for me because it helps to make sure that I have not lost any chance that was given for me to achieve success.

At the same time, life of Napoleon Bonaparte has proved to me that there is nothing impossible in the world if you deliver enough efforts and desire. He used to say that “impossible is a work that to be found in the dictionary of fools”.

Being an outstanding leader, life and achievements of Napoleon have taught me that in order to be a good leader in life or even manager at work or class at school, one has to motivate its subordinates or colleagues. Having motivated his soldiers in the right way, Napoleon has achieved numerous victories in battles. He believed that “a soldier will fight long and hard for a bit of a colored ribbon” which is also true for our modern way of life.

Overall, it is clear that life of every person is affected by numerous people we meet, spend our lives with or come across in the history books or news channels. As far as I am concerned, I find history to be a good teacher for defining life goals and means of achieving them. Napoleon Bonaparte is one of the most controversial but also one of the most outstanding leaders in the history. His success in the young age inspires me to set up high goals and teaches me how to develop the best strategy to accomplish my goals.
